Can I talk to the appraiser about my home's value?
You are welcome to speak with the appraiser during the visit, but only to provide factual information about your home—such as recent upgrades, permits, or features they should be aware of.
You can't try to influence the appraiser’s opinion of value or suggest what the value “should” be. Appraisers are required to remain independent and unbiased, and any attempt to influence the outcome could delay your application.
If you disagree with the final valuation, Point offers a Reconsideration of Value process where you can submit comparable sales and explain any concerns. Your Point team will guide you through that process. Please don't reach out to the appraiser directly with concerns over your report. Per government regulations, all communication must be delivered through Point.
