Why must NOC-related liens be cleared before funding?

When construction work is completed, contractors or suppliers can place a lien on a property if they haven’t been fully paid.

Once payment is made, the contractor issues a lien release, which confirms they no longer have a financial claim tied to your home.

Point requires any Notice of Commencement or mechanics liens to be cleared so we can confirm there are no outstanding claims affecting your home's equity. The lien must be released before our underwriting team can complete their final review.

If this applies to you, your Point team will explain what's needed.
