I received an urgent letter (e.g., “Final Notice”) claiming to be from Point. Is this legitimate?

It’s understandable to feel concerned when you receive an unexpected or urgent-sounding letter. In most cases, these letters are not from Point—they are third-party marketing mailers that use publicly available county records to make their messages look official.

Common signs that a letter is not from Point include:

  • Claims about warranties expiring or needing immediate verification

  • Small print stating they are not affiliated with your mortgage holder

  • A phone number or company name that does not match Point

  • Offers for unrelated services (insurance, warranty, refinancing, etc.)

These letters can be ignored—they do not require any action from you.

If you’re unsure about a letter, we're happy to verify whether it's legitimate. Contact our servicing team at servicing@point.com or (650) 632-5040.
