What should I do if my title report shows liens I don’t recognize?
If there are liens on your title report that aren't familiar, don’t worry—this can happen.
Point identifies liens through public records and title reports ordered during underwriting. These reports sometimes list liens or judgments tied to the property or to current or past owners, or people with a similar name.
We’ll review the liens, explain what they mean, and let you know whether any action is needed before closing. We might ask you to complete a Statement of Information so the title company can conduct more research to determine if the judgments or liens are tied to another person.
A clear title is required to close your Point Home Equity Investment, and we're here to guide you through the process.
