Do I need to be present for closing?

All required signers must be present at closing so their identities can be verified. All owners on title need to sign closing documents. Depending on the state the property is in, spouses of owners may need to sign some closing documents as well.

In some cases, when signers can't be physically present—such as military personell who are overseas—a power of attorney may be used.
